Art Antwerp | 2nd Edition, 15-18.12.2022

About Art Antwerp

The fair was born in 2021 after a prolonged period during which no events could occur due to the pandemic and when art fairs were beginning to re-emerge in many cities around the world. There was a strong sense that art lovers were keen to revisit fairs, engage with art, and meet the art community anew. With this in mind, Art Brussels launched Art Antwerp to support the market.

Antwerp is internationally known as a dynamic city with some of Belgium’s most prominent museums and numerous galleries. It is also a melting pot of young and established artists, a favorite place for gourmets, avant-garde fashion lovers, and the discovery of all sorts of fantastic creative talent.

Art Brussels announces the second edition of Art Antwerp, a contemporary art fair, from Thursday, 15 to Sunday, 18 December 2022, at the Antwerp Expo.

2nd Edition

After a remarkable success last year with more than 10,000 visitors, the art fair keeps the same format as its first edition. This year, it includes 65 participating galleries. With a solid international program and representing both established and emerging artists, 15 of these are from Antwerp, and half come from abroad (compared to a third of them last year).

“It was logical, after the very well-attended and successful launch of Art Antwerp in December 2021, that a second edition of the fair should take place. The art scene and galleries in Antwerp are dynamic and mutually supportive. Moreover, Art Antwerp is becoming more international in gallery provenance than its previous edition. The scope of the galleries is expanding to Europe, whereas last year, it was limited to Belgium and the surrounding countries. We expect many more international visitors!” – Nele Verhaeren, Managing Director.

Collaborations and Main Partners

Art Antwerp is proud to announce that the fair can count on collaborating with two new main partners, Delen Private Bank, and Bank Van Breda. Both banking institutions will also jointly act as main sponsors of Art Brussels. The hosting committee invites participating galleries based on the gallery’s profile. This year again, there will be no sections – on the floor plan, you will discover younger galleries next to more established ones. The smaller scale of the fair allows for a more extensive and precise overview of the participating galleries and contributes to a welcoming and intimate atmosphere. Organized by the Art Brussels team, the fair’s standards are guaranteed high quality.
